Think about that last one. Somebody pressed play on 350 of the last 365 days. And 25 of the 33 people watching this year have been around for more than two years. That isn't a server people try once; it's something we use.
Why I'm asking
Soundwave is an older Dell server in my basement rack, and everything it plays lives on a few USB hard drives. One of them filled up, locked up, and I had to pull it. Another is 96% full. There is no second copy of any of it, so if one more drive dies, whatever was on it is gone.
Now, I could keep patching that; but you've shown me it's worth doing right. The plan is a proper storage server: four drives set up so any two can fail without losing a thing, room to grow, and a processor that can handle several streams at the same time without stuttering.

Do I have to contribute to keep watching?
No. Soundwave works exactly the same whether you give or not.
What if I contribute and then stop?
Nothing happens. Cancel any time; I won't treat anyone differently.
What does the money pay for?
Server hardware: the storage server, the hard drives, and the cables and shipping to get them here. Nothing else.
What happens when you hit the goal?
I close the fund and post an update. It reopens only when a drive fails or something needs replacing.
Can I see where it went?
Yes. I'll post a short summary in Discord and the WhatsApp group with what came in and what I bought.
Is this a subscription to Soundwave?
No. Soundwave is a server I run for our community. Contributions help cover the hardware; they don't buy access, content, or service.
